Can I Move My TELUS Smart Hub After It’s Been Installed?

Unfortunately, no. Once installed into your home, the TELUS Smart Hub is in a fixed location. If you move your smart hub, your internet service will be blocked, and you’ll receive an email notifying you. To get the service back, you’ll have to move the TELUS smart hub to its original location and follow the instructions in your email. If you do not receive the email regarding your block in service, you’ll need to validate the email address on your TELUS account.

Will I Be Able to Stream with My TELUS Hub?

The short answer is yes. The quality of your videos depends on the internet speed included in your plan. Each streaming service has its quality demands. We’ve compiled the specifications for two of the most popular streaming services currently, YouTube and Netflix. Check their website for the specifications to see what other streaming services require. Here is a breakdown of the internet speeds needed for the essential quality to the best the services offer: • YouTube – To stream at their lowest quality of 360p, you must have 1 MBPS internet. If you wish to access their best at 1080p, YouTube suggests having at least 8 MBPS. • Netflix – To stream their lowest quality video requires an internet speed of 1.5 MBPS. Super HD video from Netflix requires internet speeds of 7 MBPS. For those with the proper set-up, if you wish to stream 3D video, it needs an internet speed of 12 MBPS.
